The goal in enhancing the digital image is to process the information as few times as possible. Every time we adjust the pixel values for resolution, color, tonal range, etc., the integrity of the digital information being process is compromised. Being digital information, this compromise is much less than analog processing but nonetheless a consideration with the multiple times we adjust the pixel values when enhancing the digital image.
Creating the Digital Master
Using the "Advanced Digital Image Enhancing Method" [A.D.I.E.M.]*, adjusting the original pixel information is kept to a minimum and for most images only occurs in step one of
"The Method"… "Creating the Digital Master". When "Creating the digital master", we adjust the acquired digital image for tonal range, color, removal of scratches and unwanted elements… (wires, a car, a reflection in a window, etc.) then save the file the basis for all subsequent enhancements.

These activities are design to employ The Method". "The Method" is a continuum that builds on the photographer's acquired knowledge and apply it to the digital image.
