About the Instructor
Bob DiNatale is the founder of the Olympus School of Digital Photography. As a producer/ consultant of corporate digital media programs, Bob conducts workshops, lectures and private instruction in the area of digital photography.Beginning photography in 1965, Bob shortly started exploring darkroom techniques in B&W and then color (and has lectured nationally for Nikon and Time-Life Schools). He has been on the leading edge of digital technology and produced his first digital presentation in 1984. With the advancements in digital photography, he has blended his knowledge of conventional photography with his digital experience. All courses are held at Bob's Medford Studio and small course size assures personal attention.

If you have just started in digital photography, or wrestling with the smooth flow of your pictures from camera to print this is the course for you.

The 10-hour course (5-2hour classes) will provide an overview of the fundamentals of digital photography. (more)
Digital Photography Essentials: ... 6 Hours (Limit 8 Students)
Fall 2008 / Spring 2009
If you have just started in digital photography, or wrestling with the smooth flow of your pictures from camera to print this is the course for you.

The 6-hour course (2-3-hour) that will provide an overview of the fundamentals of digital photography workflow. It begins with a review of the digital camera settings and digital file formats and concludes with tips about image editing, file storage and image output. This session will provide a good foundation on which to build your knowledge of the digital workflow. (more)
Digital Photography Workflow: ...6 Hours (Limit 8 Students)

This hands on workshop will demonstrate color printer settings and considerations for optimal printing. The impact of these settings on the color, size and sharpness of the final print will be explored.

If you have feel as though you can shoot, transfer and print your digital photos but want to take the next step then this hands-on workshop may be the next step.

The hands-on workshop starts by reviewing your digital camera settings and concludes with a printing of student's works. Along the way, Bob will guide a photo shoot discussing photo tips and tecniques and instruct you on the digital workflow - from photographing to image transfer, digital photo editing with photo database, basic image enhancing, and output for print and email considerations. Photoshop Essentials is for you. These two workshops... "Processing the Digital Image" & "Printing the Digital Image" will be the cornerstone of your digital processing knowledge.
PS Essentials I - Processing the Digital Image [individual session - $99]
Fall 2008 / Spring 2009
You will be spending many hours with Photoshop software and it should be enjoyable.This 3-hour class will direct you on the essential tools and tips to simplify the process when working with your digital files. By reducing the menus, tools and techniques needed to simulate the photographic darkroom process, you will become more efficient in processing the digital image. Learn tips on how to "be gentle" with your pixel which will result in better quality digital prints. (more)
PS Essentials II - Printing the Digital Image[individual session - $99]
Fall 2008 / Spring 2009
If you are using Photoshop or Elements to print your digital photos and not getting the results you want - surprise, it may not be as difficult as you think!. Have you changed Photoshop's default printer setting? If not, then you will never get the proper colors in your print!

This 3-hour workshop will discuss Printer Settings in Photoshop/Elements as well as your printer settings necessary to obtain better color prints. Other printing topics covered are: Centering, Sizing and bordering prints; Photoshop's Image Size menu and it's effect on print quality (also its proper, but different, use when emailing). Photo Papers and Inks Considerations. A quick test to determine if a color problem is caused by your printer or file data. (more)
