Print Test: Effects
of Printer
Settings on Color Management

This
is the Mother of All Print tests to best understand how your
color prints are effected by printer settings in Adobe's "Photoshop"
and "Elements. There are 5 tests with a total of 13
prints. You may not need to do all test - most only need
test 1. However, doing the entire test will lead to a powerful
understanding, or reinforcement, of understanding printer
color management. You will print one "Control file"
throughout the entire test. You can download ADIEM_Tweak.tif
(shown at right) from my sight or e-mail and I'll send it)

- The first Test
(prints 1-3) may be all you need to solve the mystery of print setting.
- Test 2 (print 4) is print results using ADIEM color management.
- Test 3 (print 5) is print results using custom ICC Profile.
- Test 4 (print 6a,b,c) print effect or "Out of Gamut" Colors
- Test 5 (print 7a,b,c) print effect of "Converting" to
a smaller color space
- Test 6 (print 8a,b,c) print effect of "Converting" to
the "printer \ paper" color space |
