Advanced Digital Image Enhancement Method
Description:

An advanced course to optimize the processing of digital images using Adobe's Photoshop... you will learn a method that parallels the traditional photographic process while taking advantage of techniques unique to the digital process. This method has evolved from Bob's unique background of 30 years in conventional photography and 15+ years of processing digital images. Computer class time is scheduled for you to apply class concepts on your files.


Who Should Attend?
The serious professional or advanced amateur who wants control and optimize the processing of digital images. Students should have a working knowledge of Photoshop (photographic shooting and darkroom experience an added benefit). Each student will be interviewed prior to enrollment.

Some of topics covered:
  • identify the Photoshop tools and menus to process digital images efficiently
  • learn which tools degrade pixel info .vs those that preserve original pixel data
  • learn a method:
    • to create Digital and Enhanced Master files for subsequent editing and printing
    • that will allow total control over individual elements of your image
    • that will provide unlimited readjustments without degrading image quality
    • that will support photo data base software to assist image storage and retrieval
  • understand the Photoshop's menus that effect our print resolution and color
  • learn advanced sharpening and printing techniques to hold detail in the digital print
  • discuss fractal "enlarging" software, continuous ink systems and color management

Course Structure: Limited to 5 (2 minimum)30 Hours: 4 Days, 5 weeks - 2 evenings
Classroom environment with a workstation for each student to create, practice and apply concepts taught. Some software & hardware to be used and discussed... Adobe Photoshop; Monaco EZ-Color; Altamira Genuine Fractals, Epson Photo Inkjet printers, Continuous Ink Systems.
