Here are some steps to follow when processing your digital images in Photoshop...
Open File:
  Øwhen opening RAW files: (basic)
Ø
define:
Ø
color space / color depth / image size / resolution
ØAdjust:
Øwhite balance color temperature
Ø
determine pixel distribution -- "histogram"…
Øexposure / shadow / brightness / contrast / saturation
Ø
adjust pixel “Details”
Ø
sharpen /smoothing / noise reduction
Ø
“Advanced” processing

Øwhen opening non-RAW files: (basic)
Ø
determined working "color space"
Ø
apply levels of adjustment" (if necessary)
ØCreate Digital Master File: (if needed)
Ømodifying pixel replacement (if necessary)
Ødetermine final crop where possible
Øflatten and save as “_DM.TIF
Processing Pixels:
 

Øadjust pixels using "Adjustment Layers"
Ø
save as “_EM.PSD

Output Pixels:
  ØFlatten (Photoshop file)
ØPrep (for final output:)
Ø
size (Resample if necessary)
Ø
for print: heigh : width size in inches or desired PPI
Ø
for video: [email/ web / DVD or CD]
Ø
"color space"
Ø sharpen
ØOutput:
Ø“Print” (opt. save as “_XM.TIF/PSD”)
Ø“email/ web": save as "-web.JPG" or "-email.JPG"
